Do you think Paul McCartney is a cunt?

If so, why?
It seems that a lot of people think Paul McCartney is a cunt, for some reason. Very few have a good word to say about him.
He's always struck me as a fairly affable sort of chap.
Not that I know him, obviously.

His songs are a bit naff, but he doesn't strike me as being anything other than a nice bloke.

Because he's alive. Best Beatle, comes across as a bit smug but I think it's earned.
Didn't seem impressed when I saw him at Glastonbury, and the whole crowd just changed "do the frog song " throughout the whole set

There's no question the man is a genius.

Given the music him and Lennon produced he'd have every right to be a complete cunt. The fact he's not and comes across as a decent bloke is testament to him. Watch the Carpool Karaoke with James Corden to see he's still got his feet firmly on the ground, great bit of TV that regardless of whether you think Corden is a cunt or not.

The way he wobbles his head when he sings or talks and his thumb raising man of the people shtick he had years ago used to irritate me greatly. Probably a nice man.

I can remember when everyone thought John Lennon was a cunt, but then he got shot so everone thought he was a genius.
Both McCartney and Lennon were genius, but both cunts as well.

I thought he was a cunt until I listened to him on radio 4 mastertapes.
In not much more than ten minutes he completely deconstructed how music works and how he would teach music in schools.
if you haven't heard it, I recommend it, its so simple and effective, it hurts.

Bit of a non answerable question really as no one on here would know him well enough to judge the level of cuntishness in him. And we all have a different definition of what makes a person a cunt.
FWIW he's always come across as an ok bloke to me.
And his palce in cultrual history is set in stone til the end of time.

Mate of mine lived in St John's Wood donkey's years ago and saw him most mornings and he would always say hello or morning and though my mate hated the Beatles he said he was friendly and not up up himself at all

Not sure I'd say Lennon was a genius but not McCartney musically. I generally prefer the McCartney compositions to Lennon's myself.
However it's a fair point to make that everything McCartney did after The Beatles was dog shit.

I gather he's famously pretty tight, but I get that.
I think your attitude to money and relative expense is usually set pretty early in life, and even if your circumstances change (as his did massively), it's quite hard not to have the same values that you did growing up.
